Known as: “THE MAIN BRAIN”

Dr Fanie qualified as a Veterinarian (B.V.Sc.) at Onderstepoort Veterinary College. Where after he became one of Ramsem’s Veterinary Reproductive Team Leaders in Embryo flushing, transfer and laparoscopic inseminations in sheep and goats. He is currently Director at Ramsem (Pty) Ltd, Absolute Wagyu (Pty) Ltd and Absolute Genetics (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Fanie is responsible for the Juvenile In Vitro Embryo Transfer (JIVET) practices. With his reproductive and embryo experience at Ramsem, he is a great asset to the Absolute Genetics team.

Known as: “THE A TEAM”

Dr Collin completed his B.Sc. Agriculture degree at the University of the Free State with honours in Wildlife at the University of Pretoria. After qualifying as a Veterinarian (B.V.Sc.) from Onderstepoort, he joined Embryo Plus with his focus on artificial reproductive techniques (ART) in cattle, traveling to neighbouring countries and further north to work in Kenya and Sudan. He is a director of Winburg Veterinary Clinic (Pty) Ltd, as well as Absolute Wagyu (Pty) Ltd and Absolute Genetics (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Collin has practiced in the Bovine Reproductive Industry for 10 years and appointed as head Veterinary Reproductive Specialist at Absolute Genetics since 2017. He is responsible for all reproductive work completed by the embryo centre, including Ovum Pick-Up, Embryo Flushing and Transfer.

Known as: “THE GENERAL”

Dr Thomas qualified as a Veterinarian (B.V.Sc.) at Onderstepoort Veterinary College. Where after he became one of Ramsem’s Veterinary Reproductive Specialist, in laparoscopic insemination, embryo flushing and transfer on sheep and goats. He is one of the Directors of Ramsem (Pty) Ltd, as well as Absolute Wagyu (Pty) Ltd and Absolute Genetics (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Thomas assists with Juvenile In Vitro Embryo Transfer (JIVET) programs and responsible for day to day organization of the Absolute Genetics team.

Known as: “MINISTER OF FINANCE”

After serving as a Lieutenant in the South African Defence Force, Lukas obtained his B.Sc. Agricultural Economy degree and honours from the University of the Free State. As Agricultural Economist his road led to Silostart as Trading Director. He is also a director at Absolute Wagyu (Pty) Ltd and Absolute Genetics (Pty) Ltd.

Lukas is responsible for all financial facets of Absolute Genetics.

Known as: “KALF MEESTER”

Dr Willie qualified as a Veterinarian (B.V.Sc.) at Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital. He practices as Veterinarian at Riebeeckstad Veterinary Clinic, with his main focus is on Wildlife. He is one of our directors at Absolute Wagyu (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Willie is a reliable source for advice on recipient and calf health, with the best remedies in the book and can advise regarding treatment and prevention methods on calf diseases.

Known as: “THE A TEAM”

Mandy has been a veterinary nurse since 2004. After completing her studies, she started out in the UK and later moved back to Pretoria. Ten years later she shifted her focus to embryo work mainly in South Africa, but also accompanied Dr Collin Albertyn, her husband, to Kenya, Sudan and other neighbouring countries for this specialized service.

Now 10 years later, Mandy works for Zoetis, a Global leader in Animal Health, while assisting the Absolute Genetics Team with field work. Mandy can advise regarding any reproductive services.

Known as: “THE INNOVATOR”

Marietjie obtained her B.Sc. Agriculture degree in Animal Science from the University of the Free State. She first worked in the poultry industry but soon realized that she wants to pursue a career in animal genetics.

Marietjie started out at Absolute Genetics managing reproduction programs and assisting with field work. She is now the IVF Lab manager at our brand new In Vivo and In Vitro Embryo Centre in Bloemfontein. Marietjie is responsible for embryo production processes and management thereof. She can assist you with cattle health and reproductive advice, as well as genetic selections and production questions.

Known as: “THE WINGMAN”

Ben completed his bachelor’s degree in Animal Production Management at the University of the Free State. Coming from a dairy background, Ben travelled to America where he worked on a Holstein dairy farm, with the second year as a dairy Reproduction Specialist. After his internship he returned home and joined the Absolute Genetics team.

Ben is our Technical Manager at the Bloemfontein Reproduction Centre. He is responsible for day to day animal care, treatments and synchronisation programs. Ben does most of our artificial insemination programs, assists with field programs and in the IVF Lab when needed. Ben can assist you with new admissions, releases and advise on animal health matters.

Known as: “THE FIXER”

Johannie obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of the Free State. She started out in the property industry and now takes a leap into the unknown joining the Absolute team.

She is responsible for managing the day to day financial and office administrative essentials. Johannie can assist you with program scheduling, debit and credits, as well as orders.

Known as: “Die Raakvatters”

John Sello (Foreman), Hendrik Leeuw and Daniel Mbeu as our right hands at Absolute Genetics, assisting with every program and Sarah Martins as the centre caretaker.
