Artificial Insemination (AI) Cattle Training

Rothman’s Livestock Training Services, in collaboration with Ramsem (PTY) Ltd and partnering with Absolute Genetics and Taurus Evolution, offers a Cattle AI Course which is held three times a year in Bloemfontein.

This introduction course is suitable for any person wanting to artificially inseminate his or her own cattle. The duration of this course is three days, consisting of two days theory and one day practical.

The theory covered in this course gives an in-depth understanding on why and how one would artificially inseminate a cow. The participants gain knowledge on how the reproductive organs operate and how one would handle them not to injure the cow.

The final day is practical day where participants will first practice on reproductive organs from slaughter animals. Thereafter, they are the taught how to thaw frozen semen, load the AI pistolet and finally how to artificially inseminate a cow.

Throughout the entire course our veterinarians are present to assist, as well as, answer any questions the participants may have.

The course is presented in English and Afrikaans and each participant receives course material. We encourage the participants to take notes and ask as many questions as possible, this always ensure a better understanding for everyone.

The courses always include a little bit extra, which makes it worthwhile for any person that attends.
